European event on Deep Brain Stimulation including a hands-on workshop for neurosurgeons, neurologists, and Parkinson's nurses at the National Neurosurgery Service at CHL (March 12-13, 2026).
An international symposium on deep brain stimulation (DBS) with a practical hands-on workshop took place at CHL in Luxembourg in March 2026. Experts from several European countries exchanged views on current developments in personalised medicine as well as innovative applications of DBS in neurological and psychiatric disorders.
A particular focus was placed on modern technologies such as image-guided programming and wearable sensor systems for therapy monitoring.
The event also provided practical training sessions for physicians and nursing staff, enabling them to deepen their expertise in using the latest techniques. At the same time, CHL highlighted its longstanding experience and its significant role in both research and the clinical application of DBS. In addition, new collaborations were initiated and existing partnerships were strengthened. In the long term, this contributes to improving patient care and advancing innovative therapeutic approaches.
